Can’t Find That New Show You Read About? Just Search For It!

Today it’s almost getting harder to keep track of all the good TV. Clearly, you’ve got OnDISH Magazine, which is the best way to stay in the know, see what’s new and what’s returning, and discover new movies and specials, along with reviewing sports lineups every month. Another helpful tool is the search function on your receiver.

Search allows you to find the shows you read or heard about, whether they are available on DISH or another source, so you can watch them live and/or create timers to record them.

There are multiple remote controls for the various receivers, so we’ve broken down a few of them to make sure you know how to use the feature.

40.0 Remote

  1. Press the SEARCH button
  2. Enter the title, name or keyword by using the arrow keys on your remote. Hover over the letter and press SELECT.
  3. If applicable, press the RED color button to integrate Netflix or Spanish titles into search results, then select your preferred search options.
  4. As you key in letters, a list of programs will appear to the right of the letter grid. Once you see the show appear, arrow over to the program and highlight it by pressing ENTER.

50.0 Remote

  1. Press the HOME button twice.
  2. Select SEARCH.
  3. Enter the title, name or keyword to find a program.
  4. If applicable, press the OPTIONS button to integrate Netflix or Spanish titles into search results, then select your preferred search options.
  5. Arrow to and select the program you want to watch or record.

52.0 Remote

  1. Press the SEARCH button.
  2. Enter the title, name or keyword to find a program.
  3. If applicable, press the OPTIONS button to integrate Netflix or Spanish titles into search results, then select your preferred search options.
  4. Arrow to and select the program you want to watch or record.

54.0 Remote

  1. Press the HOME button twice.
  2. Select SEARCH.
  3. Enter the title, name or keyword to find a program
  4. If applicable, press the OPTIONS button to integrate Netflix or Spanish titles into search results, then select your preferred search options.
  5. Arrow to and select the program you want to watch or record.
